The area is rich with medieval towns, fortresses,
castles, palaces and parks, each with its own special
history. There are remnants everywhere of the Romans,
including a bridge in Mercatello sul Metauro that is still
used today. In Urbania and Urbino you can visit the Ducal
Palaces which have been converted to museums.
You need only ask your hosts at Ca’Gnoni for recommendations
on what towns and villages are not to be missed, all based
on what interests you most.
